Lemon Barbecue Sauce
1 cup ketchup
1 can (6 oz.) tomato sauce
½ cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon rind
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon molasses
½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Simmer the sauce over moderate heat until thickened, about
3 to 5 minutes.
Let cool, then refrigerate.
This sauce can be prepared up to one week in advance and stored
in the refrigerator.
